Direct answer

Direction is fixed when you place a lift — reverse it by replacing it, not by editing it. Rebuild the run rotated (or clone the piece and place the rotated copy), then remove the original. Belts move 60 items/min at base, raised by Logistics Efficiency, and the height of a Conveyor Lifter is set by dragging it during placement.

Changing direction

  1. Before placing: rotate the placement ghost until the arrow points the right way, then click. Rotating after placement does not flip an existing lift.
  2. After placing: go into clone mode (B), select the lift, place the rotated copy, then cut the original with T. This preserves the connection points better than deleting and rebuilding by hand.
  3. Long runs: the Lift Shaft selection bug was fixed in 1.1.5023, so shafts are now clickable as single objects — select the shaft, not the segments.

Getting through a floor

Two approaches work: cut a floor opening and put a Conveyor Lifter through it, or use a Tunnel Conveyor to punch a hole in the wall/floor edge and belt into it from both sides. The tunnel keeps the building sealed and stops your items from being visible across floors, which matters if you are stacking production vertically.

Belt speed and throughput

Base belt speed is 60 items per minute, and Logistics Efficiency raises it. That number matters because it caps any single line: a machine producing more than 60/min needs a second belt, not a faster one. Compare with recipe timings to see where the real bottleneck sits.
